Questions about this tour

What makes this different from a standard tour?

Three things: the properties are owner-run rather than chain hotels, several site visits happen outside public opening hours, and you are assigned a trip designer who plans with you before travel and stays reachable throughout.

Can you arrange seaplane transfers?

Yes. Cinnamon Air operates scheduled and charter seaplane services to Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Dickwella and Trincomalee. A charter typically adds USD 1,800 to 3,200 per leg depending on aircraft and distance.

Are the tea bungalows suitable in every season?

They sit at 1,600 to 2,000 metres where nights fall to 10 degrees Celsius. Rooms have fires or heaters. April and August are clearest; November and December bring more cloud but the fires make up for it.

Do you cater to dietary requirements?

Yes. Sri Lankan cooking is naturally vegan-friendly, and every property is briefed in advance on allergies, vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher-style and gluten-free requirements.

How far in advance should we book?

For December to March travel, six to nine months. The best villas and tea bungalows have four to eight rooms and sell out first. Shoulder season can often be arranged inside two months.
